buzzbishop.com: Tween Dora is now a Princess Explorer

I'll admit, her transformation isn't as bad as I thought it would be. But why did they have to get rid of Backpack? Is Boots going to get a make-over too?

I dont think its THAT bad..As a cartoonist I could probably design something a little more parent friendly. It doesnt feel like the same Dora. She'd look better with a pony tail, back pack and jeans. Something that looks more "explorer"!!

GREAT idea! Something more casual and real to the "occupation" of explorer. She's a little too "dolled" up in this outfit, but it couldve been worse... like Jenny says with the Bratz-ification.

I feel weird commenting on this, having never seen an episode of Dora, but I do know who she is, as my sons friends (3 year olds) are all kitted out in the stuff. She can't be as bad as those Bratz dolls. Of which, by the way, an entire aisle is devoted to these "low self esteem" dolls in toys r us. So, I ask... who's buying this stuff??? Someone is and that someone will be snapping Dora the tween up too.

First upset...exploring the world and she steps in a mud puddle, ruining her new ballet flats. Oh the horror.

As a mom to six kids, and five being girls ages 8 down to 16 months. I think this tween Dora is actually a breath of fresh air. I would have no problems with my girls playing with Dora items. I like her! And, yes WAY better than those Bratz dolls.
