I have suggested to the organizers that they get you some tickets for one night to see and hear the pyro-musical show! Granted, even from a distance these are by far the most amazing fireworks Calgary has ever seen, but the synchonization and musical symmetry are amazing!

Re: Bicycle Helmets are Mandatory?

Also notice, one of the toddlers in the bike trailer is sans helmet.. Having lived in Saskatchewan for many years, (which has ample access to lakes and beaches without having to travel very far) I moved to calgary and I MISSED days at the lake SO much! After making many trips to Sylvan myself (which is overcrowded and higly polluted by the end of summer)I couldn't help but wonder... "why isn't there a FEE for 'non community' members to have access to the exclusive man-made lakes??" I would gladly pay what it costs in gas to get to sylvan lake to spend a day at the beach. And wouldn't the home owners in those communities appreciate a reduced rate on their annual lake fees? Auburn Bay's annual lake fees are $450.00 year. I know this because I recently purchased a home there (and not for the elitist access to a 'lake community', I might add.) I would GLADLY open the access to the public in order to pay less. I say, 'the more, the marrier!' Apparently we can sign in up to 20 ppl in at a time, so if you ever want a day at the beach - consider me a friend, and supporter of public access to lakes in Calgary!
