    I've been following scott's critiques since day 1 and also learned a hell of a lot :-)

    While I fully respect Scott's work, having been an avid listener of TWIP since its start, I have to say that often his style doesn't "click" with me. He has no barriers to the use of Photoshop, and quite often the pictures look far too "artificial". The critiqued picture in this story is a perfect example of this.

    Scott has this preference for "dreamy" blurry backgrounds that blend into the subject. It sometimes works, but you should be weary of overusing it. Scott is really good at what he does, and even he does it too much.

    @Loke I agree the background on the example is very over done.. I think it was the only way to cut the left side to the right. I just remembered it as a way to stretch the canvas for the image I needed to edit, which was far easier considering I just had plain sky to deal with.
